Academics

Academics

The intellectual, spiritual and personal growth of our students is the foundation on which our elementary school and middle school academic programs are built. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School offers a comprehensive curriculum based on our Catholic values and Common Core standards.

Each of our classroom teachers holds a valid California Teaching Credential and more than half of our instructors, including our principal, have Master’s degrees in education-related fields.

In 2013, our rigorous educational programs that incorporate faith-based learning were reaccredited by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

We believe that technology plays an integral role in education and are a leader in providing access to our students as part of their learning experience. Our classrooms are fully equipped with SMART Boards, projectors and audio sound systems. We have a dedicated computer lab that provides students with access to Google for Education and allows them to explore technology in a safe, monitored environment.

Academic Program: Kindergarten-5th Grade

For grades Kindergarten through 5th, classes are self-contained in individual rooms. All students participate twice weekly in Physical Education and Music as well as attend technology lab once during the week. Faith formation is integrated into all subject areas and family life and virtues are weaved into our curriculum.

Academic Program: Middle School

Unique to St. Elizabeth’s, we have the only departmentalized middle school in the Sacramento Diocese. Our middle school program is designed to prepare students to successfully prepare for the rigors of a college preparatory high school experience.

Much like our elementary experience, all middle school students participate twice weekly in Physical Education and attend technology lab weekly. Faith formation is integrated into all subject areas and family life and virtues are weaved into our curriculum.

However, that’s where the similarities end. Middle school students attend Math and Language Arts support classes and choose from a Full Elective Program that includes Academic Decathlon, Music, Leadership, Latin, Math Application, Art and Yearbook.
